Apple adores Mophie’s response to Apple’s rejection of AirPower—this charging pad. It is available on the Apple website as well as the shelves of their physical stores. Although it’s not nearly as Apple-like as I had imagined the AirPower to be, it’s unfair to compare a real product to a myth.

Pros

  • Triple-purpose accessory that charges your Apple Watch, iPhone, and AirPods simultaneously
  • Stylish design that keeps cords from tangling

Cons

  • It’s not always simple to locate an iPhone charging station
  • The charging process is irregular

Other manufacturers have been finding it difficult to fill the void left by Apple’s decision to withhold the release of the AirPower universal charging mat, which it had promised. Mophie’s response to the AirPower was so well received by Apple that it is now available on its website and in Apple stores. The Mophie 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad is a true representation of its appearance and functionality. Your Apple Watch, AirPods (with a wireless charging case), and iPhone 8 or later can all be charged simultaneously.

Instead of being one large flexible mat, each item has its own space. The AirPod case is neatly nestled into a tiny niche. The Apple Watch is powered by the small stand. Certain watch stands give off the impression that the watch might fall off at any time. However, I didn’t worry about this stand’s ability to hold the Apple Watch firmly in place. Unlike some charging stands that need you to insert your own charger, this one comes with the watch charger itself. The remaining portion of the cradle is made to support 7.5W fast wireless charging for the iPhone.

The charging pad has a glossy, black glass surface. It’s pretty, but it gets fingerprints all over it. It is simple to use and arrange correctly thanks to designated areas for the Apple Watch and AirPods. You must exercise caution, though, when positioning your iPhone. If you just place it anywhere, there won’t be any charge. Occasionally, it moves while charging. It didn’t totally disconnect during my testing, but it did occasionally move off the charging coil and cease to charge.

I have tested a lot of chargers, and even with a “weak old” 5W charger and a USB-A-Lightning cable, none of them charge as quickly as just plugging my iPhone into a wall charger. With the exception of its switching time, every wireless charger I’ve used has performed comparably to a cable connection in terms of speed. This includes the Mophie.

One of my favorite features of the Apple Watch is the Bedside Mode, which lets you tilt the device to the ideal angle to maximize its benefits. Even if you’re lying in bed with your eyes at the same height as the charging stand, the AirPods won’t block your view of the watch in Nightstand mode because the watch’s stand is slightly raised.

My iPhone was charged by the Mophie 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad through all but the thickest cases. Any case up to three millimeters thick can be used with it. This agrees with what I’ve experienced.

You won’t need anything else to charge your three devices because a power adapter is included. This charging pad is covered by a two-year warranty from Mophie.

I adore how much this panel can do with such little room on my desk. You can simultaneously charge your Apple Watch, iPhone, and AirPods by plugging in a single device. It charges more quickly than most wireless devices, which makes it fairly convenient. This charger’s Apple Watch stand is perfectly angled and raised to enable a seamless nightstand mode. A quaint little nook surrounds the AirPods charging area. The Mophie 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad: Things I dislike about it.

What I don’t like

Since I had only experienced this once on numerous occasions, I assumed I was the only one when I noticed that my iPhone had somehow come off the charging coil while charging. However, other users have brought up the same thing. It is important to be aware of even though it may not occur frequently. You can also disable your iPhone in a dozen different ways, none of which will function at all. If at all possible, you should position your device carefully to allow for charging.

Mophie Triple-Use Wireless Charging Pad: Summary

It’s such a relief to be able to replace the tangle of cables and three separate chargers from your desk or bedside table with one fantastic accessory. There’s no need to search for additional cables or a charging block because everything you need is included in the box. Simply place it on your desk, connect your Apple Watch, iPhone, and AirPods to it, and let it charge. Just make sure the charging coil is directly above your iPhone.
